Meet The Speakers

Ms Angjolie Mei

Angjolie Mei is one of a handful of women in Singapore's funeral industry. The founder of The Life Celebrant, entrepreneur, certified funeral celebrant and legacy planner published an autobiography titled "Dying To Meet You - Confessions Of A Funeral Director" in 2017.

Mr Chew Weng Keong

After 20 years of serving the Healthcare and Biomedical Research industries, Weng Keong adheres to evidence-based practices. He previously served as a clinical physiotherapist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, allowing him to empower his clients and their caregivers daily on the importance of physical activity and resistance training for better health outcomes. Prior to joining ASPIRE55, his work in the Ministry of Health, enhanced his belief in strong advocacy of a holistic healthy lifestyle. He has academic certifications in Biochemistry, Nutrition, Health Promotion And Physiotherapy. Engaging in lifelong learning, he attends courses regularly like “Health Coaching for Older Adults" by NTU and “Senior Strength & Conditioning” by Academy of Sport Speed Australia.

Associate Professor Helen Ko (Dr)

Master and PhD in Gerontology Programmes, S R Nathan School of Human Development, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore
Dr Helen Ko is an Associate Professor with the Singapore University of Social Sciences, teaching in the Master and PhD in Gerontology and Master of Counselling Programmes. A pioneer of several services for seniors in Singapore, including gerontological counselling, daycare and case management services, as well as seniors employment programmes, A/Prof Koh as spent decades equipping the nation to care for an ageing population. She has served on national committees, including the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Ageing Population, and as board director of various eldercare organisations. She has conducted research on the counselling and teaching of older adults, as well as the ageing workforce. Sheh as authored seven books related to ageing issues

Mrs Noor Quek

Founder & CEO, NQ International Pte Ltd, Co-Founder and Past-President, Breast Cancer Foundation, Singapore
Noor, aged 73, is a mother of 3 and a grandmother to 7. Her career experience spans more than 40 years in a broad range of banking and financial advisory services with established financial institutions. She is currently Founder & CEO of NQ International Pte. Ltd, established in 2007, to provide wealth advisory and talent placement services.

Noor is also a director on several charity boards/non-profit organisations and was a co-founder and past president of Breast Cancer Foundation, established in 1997. She has been actively involved with the non-profit and charity/philanthropy sectors for more than 30 years. Her current focus is on active ageing, mental wellness and helping to raise the stature of the differently-abled in our community.

An avid musician, Noor has been performing with various musicians here and overseas to raise funds for charities for almost 50 years. Her key mottos in life are: "IT AIN'T OVER UNTIL IT'S OVER" and "DARE TO DREAM".

Ms Tan Ching Yee

Head, Psychosocial Services, HCA Hospice, Singapore
With over 30 years of experience in the Social Work industry, Ms Tan Ching Yee is an industry veteran who has combined her strong analytical skills, creativity, and compassion to serve individuals and their families affected by illness and disability.  

Ching Yee started her social work career in the healthcare sector. In her 20 years as a full-time Medical Social Worker (MSW), she has actively volunteered with a family service centre (FSC); as well as contributed to volunteer training, recruitment; and the planning of a new FSC. She was a pioneering member of the Elder Protection Team and currently serves as an appointed member of the Review Board for Vulnerable Adults and as a Board of Visitor with the Office of Public Guardian. In recognition of her service and dedication to social causes, she received the Friends of MCYS Award in 2011 and Outstanding Social Worker Award in 2019.

Since joining HCA Hospice in 2017, Ching Yee has led the organisation’s efforts to reinvent public education initiatives, such as Learn@HCA. She champions knowledge-sharing, practice leadership with the objective of strengthening a multi-disciplinary team comprising medical social workers, spiritual care counsellors, and art therapists. 

Ching Yee currently leads HCA’s clinical team alongside a group of skilled clinical leads, driving HCA’s evolving model of care to meet the rising demand for home hospice services. Together, they are committed to ensuring a high quality of care while fostering staff well-being.
